How Does a Remote High Rise Search Work?
Most transferees cannot fly to Houston three times to tour. We build your shortlist around where you will work, then do the legwork: current rents, specials, screening rules, parking costs and video walk-throughs of real units.
Houston is spread out, and your office location changes everything. A high rise in Montrose can be a short drive to Downtown but a long one to the Energy Corridor at rush hour. We group towers by employer hub:
- Downtown: energy, law and finance offices, many connected by the Downtown Houston Tunnel System. Towers like One Park Place (from $2,443) and Aris Market Square (from $1,682, 2 months free plus $1,500).
- Texas Medical Center: Latitude Med Center (from $1,635), The Carter ($1,974), Forme Houston ($1,798, delivered 2026) and Hanover Southampton ($2,525). The METRORail Red Line connects TMC to the Museum District, Midtown and Downtown.
- Galleria/Uptown: Aspire Post Oak and Camden Post Oak along Post Oak Boulevard.
- Energy Corridor and Memorial City: The Fountains at Memorial City, The McKinley on the I-10 Katy Freeway, and The Watt in Westlake Park.

Corporate Lease, Personal Lease or Extended-Stay?
How you lease depends on who pays. If your employer signs a corporate lease with employer direct billing, the building has to accept company leases, and not all do. If you get a lump-sum relocation or a temporary housing allowance, you will likely sign a personal lease. Extended-stay hotels make sense for a few weeks, but the per diem rate rarely beats a furnished apartment beyond that.
We compare those three paths, and we flag lease terms that matter to transferees: early termination clauses, diplomatic clauses, lease assignment and the short-term lease premium. Our guide on corporate vs. personal vs. extended-stay leases has the details.
Common Problems We Solve
“I start my job after the move-in date”
Many buildings accept a signed offer letter showing salary and start date. Some ask for an extra deposit or a guarantor when the start date is later. See renting with an offer letter.
“I am a medical resident starting July 1”
Demand peaks in spring. We line up options in April and May and match lease length to your program years. Read apartments for medical residents.
“I have never been to Houston”
We explain neighborhoods by commute, walkability and price, not by marketing names. Our remote rental timeline shows what to send us and when.
“My job is on the west side”
Energy Corridor jobs often favor Memorial City over the inner loop. See relocating for an energy job.
